Civil Ceremonies

As an alternative to a religious wedding ceremony, the castle can offer clients the choice of a civil wedding conducted by a local registrar.

These intimate ceremonies can be conducted in the Great Hall by candlelight in front of the blazing log fire or in the gardens. Comlongon will prepare the castle and organise a piper for the afternoon ceremony, just as with a religious ceremony, the only difference will be that the ceremony will be conducted by a celebrant provided by their local registrar.

Traditional Weddings in a Traditional Castle

If booking a civil wedding ceremony you will not need to collect your documentation from the local registry office as the registrar will bring your marriage forms to the castle.

Once you have chosen a date for your civil wedding ceremony, the castle will pass on your details to their local registrar who will contact you to discuss your requirements and detail the necessary documentation.

Payment of any fees for the registrar is a supplement to those charged by the castle.
