Surrounded by stunning scenery in Glenisla, Forter Castle was built in 1560 and enjoys a history as rich as the countryside in which it sits. All who come to stay at Forter quickly learn to use the castle as their own, and greatly enjoy the warmth of a charming home and the magnificent outdoors that surround it.

Forter Castle is set within 3 acres of private grounds in the southern Scottish Highlands. Every room provides its own wonderful view of the stunning surrounding landscape. Six individually-designed bedrooms offer accommodation for a maximum of 12 adults, and the magnificent hall, which spans the entire width of the castle, affords guests a truly relaxing experience.

The area surrounding Forter Castle offers not only stunning scenery, but also the opportunity to enjoy the glens: walking, riding, cycling or by whichever means you prefer. The mountains offer both skiing and snowboarding during winter months or, if you prefer, mountain-biking and hiking. For those with a passion for water, rivers, lochs and beaches offer numerous aquatic activities. For the purest of thrill-seekers, activities from paragliding to bungy-jumping can also be found within the locality. You could enjoy a round of golf or a visit to a local distillery - so very traditionally Scottish!

A 7 night stay for 12 guests arriving 29 December 2017, is offered at £8700 for the week.
