Ackergill Tower is just five minutes from Wick Airport, which now benefits from multiple' no frills' scheduled flights into Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Inverness and then on to Wick with either British Airways/Loganair from Edinburgh or with Eastern Airways from Aberdeen.

Ackergill Castle is just 3 metres from the sea and has 3 miles of sandy beach all the way to the river, which at low water in bare feet, you can easily cross for another 3 miles. The Caithness skies are huge and have to be experienced first hand. The sea is stunning and, in mid-winter, sitting by a huge peat fire whilst a wild sea rages in the Bay, is spectacular.
