Auchen Castle provides a fantastic location to enjoy a leisure break. Dumfries and Galloway is one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland, a unique diversity of countryside surrounding the castle.
With
its breathtaking scenery and unspoilt coastline nearby, it is easy to see why
so many visitors keep coming back to Auchen Castle each year to enjoy a range
of leisure activities to complement their visit.
The start of the Southern Upland Way is only 2 miles from the castle and, for those less adventurous, there are numerous walks and forestry cycle paths to explore. Horse riding, fly fishing, shooting and all manner of country sports and pursuits can be arranged.
Golf is also a firm favourite and, with over twenty courses to play in the area, there's something for every level of golfing enthusiast.
ARCHERY
Archery £30 per person up to a group of 6. Group of 7 to 30 people £150

Archery is one of the world's oldest sports. You may not have to shoot for
your dinner or even your life but the skills remain the same. Experience
of power as the arrow explodes from the bow. With the Archery Experience you'll
get to grips with a bow and take in some target practice as you
fire your arrows in a safe, fun and friendly environment. This can be done
one to one, as a couple, a small family group. Approximately an hour,
minimum age 6
SPORT OF THE AGES
This includes a falconry lesson,
then archery. Durations approximately two hours, £60 per person.
