The Gardens
The gardens and policies at Blair are a beautiful, complete and intact designed
landscape. Captain William Fordyce Blair R.N. laid out the park in the 1850's
and planted many specimen trees and shrubs, forming the foundation of the attractive
private gardens surrounding the castle.

The Bombo Burn winds through this interesting and charming garden, where sequentially
drifts of snowdrops, a haze of bluebells, an expanding collection of daffodils
and in early summer, the blaze of azaleas and rhododendrons provide all year
round interest and colour; a glorious photographic location and a place of peace
and sanctuary. The swimming pool and the croquet lawn offer entertainment in
this beautiful setting, while the castle is the perfect backdrop to champagne
on the extensive lawns.
