The castle type Victorian baronial mansion is set in the tranquil and rural countryside, where sheep outnumber humans! The house dates back to 1861 and the walled garden goes back as far as 1661, when the first Cringletie House was built.
The hotel has 13 inidividually designed rooms, all furnished to the highest standards, across three catagories: Junior Suites, Luxury and Classic.
The hotel's own restaurant serves contemporary dishes prepared by award winning chef, Patrick Bardoulet. The food can be enjoyed in the Sutherland Room with its beautiful, hand painted trompe l'oeuil ceiling and real log open fire.
It is ideally situated for tours through the Borders, visits to Edinburgh, Rosslyn Chapel and the Glenkinchie Distillery.
Cringletie is the only hotel south of Edinburgh with 4 RED AA stars and 4 GOLD Visit Scotland stars. There is also free WiFi throughout. Cringletie is fully accessible to less mobile guests and received a Catey Accessibility award in 2011. There is a lift to all floors.
