DINING

We cordially invite you to savour the interesting and well balanced dishes from Cringletie's award winning chef, Paul Hart. They will undoubtedly please your palate! The contemporary cuisine of the chef is influenced by his love for fresh local Scottish produce. He makes the most of it and does that with a distinctive French tweak!

The chef can cater for food allergies as long as he knows some days in advance.

The stylish Sutherland Room with its beautiful, hand painted trompe l'oeuil ceiling and real log open fire offers unparalleled views of the Cringletie grounds. The smaller Wolfe Murray Room is the perfect setting for an intimate family dinner as it holds a maximum of 12 guests. Even the Maguire Room may be used for dining. Wherever dinner is served, the service is professional, friendly and attentive and the dining experience will be a memorable one.

The restaurant offers a daily changing 3-course menu for lunch. Depending on your appetite, you may opt for the full works or just one or two courses.

The dinner menu is an exciting and most interesting a la carte menu. It changes with the seasons. For that special occasion you could try the 7-course gourmet tasting menu. Chef will use for this menu produce that is available on that particular day and, therefore, the menu itself will always be a surprise!

The traditional and popular Sunday Lunch is normally served in the spacious Sutherland Room. It is adviseable to book the Sunday Lunch in advance.

VEGETABLES FROM THE WALLED GARDEN

Cringletie House boasts a 400 years old walled kitchen garden. Times have changed and not all of the garden is used for the kitchen anymore.

Chef, Paul Hart, in close co-operation with the owners and consultant, Mr Jim McKay, grows a large amount of his required vegetables in the walled garden. Part of the Victorian greenhouse is also in use for this purpose.

It is extremely satisfying to be able to harvest from one's own garden. One can't get it fresher!

The soil of the walled garden is so good that it regularly produces huge courgettes (amongst other vegetables).

WINE

To accompany your exquisite dinner, Cringletie House has put together a wine list that caters for every taste. From classic French Bordeaux to New World Cabernet Sauvignons, it is all there for you to enjoy.

If you want to make a real feast of pre-dinner drinks, why not go for a beautiful champagne or an exotic looking cocktail?

WHISKY

Cringletie House would not be a proper Scottish Country House Hotel if it did not have a well stocked whisky bar! At the end of the day, everybody who says Scottish immediately thinks whisky!

The variety of malt whiskies is endless; Island , Speyside, Lowland and Highland to name but a few categories. To discern one from the other is a skill. Skills can be acquired and, therefore, Cringletie can offer you in-house whisky tastings to start building up your knowledge. Sign up for this truly Scottish experience!

24 hours' notice is required to do a whisky tasting.

AFTERNOON TEA

Coffee and tea is served throughout the day in the public room of your choice. There is always an opportunity to spoil yourself with something more than a cup of tea or coffee, whatever nice!

Afternoon teas come in a variety of shapes and styles. From tea with biscuits, to tea with scones to the full afternoon tea, it is all possible. However, to give you the freshest of cakes and biscuits, a reservation is required for the scrumptuous and delicious full afternoon tea.

HAMPER

Sometimes in rural areas it is difficult to find suitable places for lunch. We have solved that problem for you!

The Cringletie picnic hamper comes in several styles, from a down-to-earth filling with sandwiches, fruit, coffee etc. to a romantic one with a bottle of champagne, chocolates etc. thrown in, to a gourmet style hamper with beautiful sandwiches, salads, perhaps a delicate soup etc.

For the walkers, a picnic rucksack is available to give you the most freedom one can get.

The hamper can be made entirely to your wishes and the staff will always be happy to assist. 24 hours' notice is required. What the staff cannot pack, however, is a tin with sunshine!
