The team at Dalmunzie feel particularly proud of the food and beverages they serve. With two AA rosettes and four years recommended in the Michelin Guide (2007-2010), a high consistency of product can be guaranteed. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast in preparation for a big day, a relaxing lunch between golf rounds, or dressing up for a special dinner, the team of chefs can provide guests with an experience to remember.
Head Chef, Katie Cleary, has many years of experience at Dalmunzie Castle, with an excellent reputation for outstanding meals, and is strongly supported by her talented team. Breakfast is taken in either the sunroom with glorious views towards Ben Earb or in the dining room, overlooking the front lawn. Teas are served throughout the day and lunch can be enjoyed wherever you like. There are numerous lounges to choose from, or if the sun is shining and the weather mild, there is no better place than on the expansive lawns, enjoying magnificent mountain scenery on all sides.
Dinner is an important old-fashioned occasion at Dalmunzie. In a fast paced world, the team provides a dining experience deliberately meant to take several hours to fully appreciate Scotland's contemporary cuisine. With the candles low, unobtrusive service on hand, and wonderful food and wine to enjoy, we are sure you’ll enjoy an event meant to be special. Dinner is enjoyed in the expansive dining room with views over the front lawn in the Spring and Summer months. Alternatively, private dining may be arranged in the James Graham Library.
Dalmunzie's menu choices reflect traditional Estate/Country House cuisine, with ingredients drawn almost exclusively from Glenshee & Perthshire. The menu changes daily, so feel free to suggest any ideas, desires or request particular favourites in advance to the kitchen brigade and they will do their best to accommodate. The wine list is constantly under review and offers the discerning guest old favourites and new surprises from premier wine producing regions. 2007 saw the addition of a master list with some of the world's most wonderful wines.
This attention has resulted in Dalmunzie achieving "Notable Wine List" status in the 2010 AA Restaurant Guide and in going forward to the final round of the AA Wine Award 2009-2010. For the whisky enthusiast, there are over 80 single malts from which to choose. All tasting notes have been compiled by the Dalmunzie staff team, offering a 'personal' approach. Unlike the majority of wine lists, the descriptions are insightful and pertinent and designed to assist guests match the right wine with dinner.
