THE WEST OF IRELAND
Known the world over for the beauty of its landscape and the warmth of its welcome. At Dromoland, you're ideally placed to explore it all. From picturesque villages to bustling country towns. From the wild country of Connemara to the mighty Shannon River and the unique atmosphere of the Burren.

THE BURREN
For generations the Burren in County Clare has been a source of fascination and enjoyment for visitors to the west of Ireland. Its name comes from the Irish for 'rocky place' - an understatement as anyone who's ever experienced the extraordinary limestone landscape at first hand will attest. The Burren is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna and an area of major interest to walkers and nature enthusiasts alike.

THE ARAN ISLANDS
The Irish-speaking Aran Islands are Europe's westernmost point. Inishmór, the largest island, is home to the impressive Iron Age fortress of Dun Aengus. Inisheer - whose atmospheric beauty has attracted countless writers and artists over the years - has a history dating right back to a 4th century monastic settlement.

LIMERICK
Whether you're interested in shopping, eating out or nightlife, the historic city of Limerick is well worth a visit. The city is dominated by the awesome 13th century King John's Castle, once the most formidable English fortification in Ireland, and a must-see for any visitor to Limerick. Also worth a visit is the famous Hunt Museum - home to one of Ireland's finest collections of Bronze Age, Celtic and Medieval treasures.

BUNRATTY
The picturesque village of Bunratty is famed for its spectacular 15th century castle, complete with sumptuous period furnishings. The nearby folk park features a reconstructed Irish village.

BALLYVAUGHAN
Ballyvaughan is a pretty fishing village on Galway Bay whose superb pubs and restaurants offer a great starting or finishing point for a day out in the Burren.

GALWAY
Galway, the unofficial capital of the West, is a delightful, prosperous city brimming with history and filled with top class shopping precincts, theatres, pubs and restaurants. The city's vibrant cultural life includes a year-round calendar of events including the Arts Festival and the famous Galway Race Week at the end of July, the Jazz Festival in February, the Festival of Literature at Easter and the Galway International Oyster Festival at the end of September.

CLIFFS OF MOHER
Rising over 700 feet high and stretching for five miles along the coast, the spectacular Cliffs of Moher offer unforgettable coastal walks and an unparalleled view of the Atlantic seascape.
