"Easterheughs Castle, owned by former Millwall, Arsenal and Liverpool footballer, Jimmy Carter, who has recently restored the property to an extremely high standard. The property is in a great location in Scotland and is now available for luxury short term holiday lets."

Easterheughs
Castle is a magnificent castle built in the style of a Scottish tower
house in 1946 and is authentic in every detail of its construction for
both the interior and the exterior.
Situated in a most spectacular setting on the shores of the Firth of Forth, the castle is surrounded by a mature woodland garden with lawns, shrubs and mature broad-leaved trees. From the crows nest, magnificent views can be obtained downstream.
The exterior of Easterheughs has many traditional features such as pantiled
roofs, crow-step gables and original stone. The castle is so well built
that many people have thought that it is an original 16th or 17th century
tower house. Easterheughs is built on hand-hewn solid rock with the principal
rooms facing South across the Firth of Forth. Nearly every feature including
the
roofs
tiles and some of the windows are taken from other buildings, so are original
in their own right. The stone and crow-steps come from nearby deserted
villages and the carved stonework from a derelict stately home.
Much of the interior woodwork is from the 17th and 18th century, and the panelling and pilasters in the Music Room, as well as the doors and the fireplace, all come from the then derelict Rossend Castle, as did the hand rail which fitted almost exactly into the turnpike staircase.
Easterheughs Castle is now available for holiday lets and short breaks, accommodating up to 12 guests, ten in the main castle and two guests in the detached 2 storey annexe, which adjoins the main house.
Set
in two and a half acres of landscaped grounds, Easterheughs Castle is
an ideal base to explore the many beautiful places Scotland has to offer,
along with the convenience of being only a short 20 minute drive from
Edinburgh Airport.
