WEDDINGS
AT EASTNOR
Your
wedding day is an event to remember and cherish, a special
day which deserves a special setting. Eastnor Castle is
just what you are looking for.
The
grand setting is perfect for weddings, ensuring that your
day is truly one to remember, not just for the bride and
groom but for all of your guests as well.
You
can even have a civil wedding ceremony in the Gothic Drawing
Room and spend your honeymoon night in one of the castle's
sumptuous guest bedrooms.

The
Great Hall
Drinks are served to guests as they enter the Hall.
If you want to have a receiving line, this is best positioned
near the doors to the Octagon Room. We strongly recommend
live music as guests arrive, which adds considerably to
the atmosphere. The castle has contacts for String Quartets,
Harpists and Pianists. A log fire will be lit if appropriate.
The
Octagon Room
Guests are free to wander through into this impressive
reception room which overlooks the lake and where food can
be served from trays. A few chairs can be placed around
the room for those who wish to sit and a fire can also be
lit if necessary. We recommend a large flower arrangement
on the centre table.

|
The
Gothic Drawing Room
This room is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and
can hold a maximum of 80 guests. The ceremony will take place
in front of the fire (lit if necessary) facing the windows
and 40-60 chairs will be positioned in a semi-circle to face
the ceremony with the remaining guests standing behind. If
you are not having the marriage ceremony at the castle, this
room will be available as an additional reception room. |
|
The State Dining Room
This room will hold a maximum of 80 guests at 10 tables of 8.
Each round table is 5 ft in diameter. The castle provides candles
and candlesticks on every table and recommends circular flower
decorations around the base of each candlestick. Food can be served
at each table by waitresses or buffet-style from tables in the
Red Hall. Please note that red wine may be consumed in the Dining
Room, but not elsewhere in the castle because of the risk of damage
to furniture and floors in other rooms.
Dancing
If you wish to have dancing to a band or discotheque, a small
silk lined marquee (20 ft x 30 ft) with a wooden dance floor can
be arranged on the Upper Terrace outside the French windows of
the Octagon Room.
 |
Accommodation
The bride and groom and their guests can stay overnight
in one of the 11 beautiful guest bedrooms. When the castle
is open to the public, the rooms must be vacated by 10.00
am on the following day.
Eastnor
Church
The Rev Dr Colin Beevers is generally able to arrange
either a church wedding or a blessing after a civil ceremony
at the castle.

 |
Catering
All wedding catering at Eastnor Castle is by Vine House Catering
in Ledbury. Prices are competitive and will vary according
to the number of guests, the overall length of time that you
spend at the castle and, of course, your menu. Please note
that the castle does not provide a corkage service for the
consumption of customers own wines. |
 |
Number of Guests
This is the key question for couples to decide because the
answer will determine the ideal format of your wedding reception.
If you have up to 80 guests, everyone can be accommodated
within the castle for the marriage ceremony, reception and
wedding breakfast. If required, dancing will be in a marquee
on the Upper Terrace.
If you have over 80 guests, the castle can be used for a
reception with canapés, after which guests move to
a large marquee on the Lower Terrace for a Dinner Dance.
Please note that for security reasons the castle will be
closed when all guests have moved to the Lower Terrace.
|
Smoking
Guests may smoke on the terraces or under the porte cochère.
Smoking is not permitted in the castle.
Finishing Time
To give time to reset and clean the castle for public opening
on Sundays, the castle asks that all wedding receptions finish
by 12 midnight.
