Glin
Castle Hotel is an imposing 18th century
castle in the middle of its 500 acre wooded
demesne on the banks of the River Shannon,
offering panoramic views across the surrounding
countryside. The castle's history goes back
to the 13th century. The castle is the home
of Desmond FitzGerald, 29th Knight of Glin.
The present castle was built in the 1780’s
with views to the south shore of the River
Shannon.
The gardens have
been extensively restored and include a
formal garden, a relaxing garden area and
a kitchen garden.
The castle
is an ideal venue for weddings, available on an
exclusive hire basis. The castle can accommodate
30 over-night guests plus there are 2 very good
B&Bs in the local village for any additional
guests requiring accommodation.
