A beautifully appointed family home situated on the shore of Loch Fyne

Welcome
Castle Lachlan can be rented by the week or for a long weekend break outside high season. The accommodation sleeps 13 people comfortably, however, additional beds can be added if required, sleeping up to a maximum of 15. The private estate extends to 1500 acres, consisting of a livestock farm and hill ground woodlands.
The ruin of the original Castle Lachlan, dating from the 13th century, lies approximately ten minutes' walk away. The family owned Iver Cottage Restaurant is also only 10 minutes' walk away. This area of the West Highlands is one of great beauty and splendour, enjoying the attractions of both the sea and hills. There are many great golf courses within a comfortable drive, plus there are many visitor attractions in the local area.
The Maclachlan Clan
Strathlachlan
is the home to the Clan Maclachlan; Euan Maclachlan of Maclachlan is the
25th Clan Chief. The old Castle Lachlan was built at the beginning of
the 14th century about the time of the Battle of Bannockburn. More
Weddings
The
settings and surroundings make Castle Lachlan a very attractive location
for your wedding. The castle was used by bass player Dougie Payne/Kelly
McDonald of Travis for his wedding. More
Activities
Apart
from walks around the castle itself, there are further walks within the
Argyll Forest Park and now there is the new Cowal Way, which runs from
Portavadie to Arrochar, but can be done in smaller sections. More
