Castle
Lachlan can be rented by the week or for a long weekend
break outside high season. The accommodation sleeps 13
people comfortably, however,
additional beds can be added if required, sleeping up to
a maximum of 15.
Overlooking the shores of Loch Fyne, Castle Lachlan dates
from the 18th century and is the seat of one of the oldest
highland clans, the Maclachlan clan for over 900 years.
The castle has been divided into two properties with the superior
south facing half, available for letting accommodation with
superb views over the loch.

The private estate extends to 1500 acres consisting of a livestock
farm, hill ground woodlands and three miles of coastline, all of which
are accessible to guests. The ruin of the original Castle Lachlan
dating from the 13th century lies approximately ten minutes' walk
away. The family oowned, Iver Cottage Restaurant is also only 10 minutes
walk away.
This area of the West Highlands is one of great beauty and splendour
enjoying the attractions of both the sea and the hills. Good golf
courses are within a comfortable drive as are the many visitor attractions
in this area.
The
castle is 1½ hours' drive from Glasgow and Castle Lachlan offers
an ideal location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday
life and unwind or enjoy many of the local activities for the more
energetic.
The
accommodation at Castle Lachlan offers an excellent combination
of style and modern comfort. The kitchen and small sitting room
on the lower floor provide a relaxing place to meet up after the
days activities, whilst the living rooms on the main floor offer
a fantastic setting for dinner and conversation into the evening
around the open fires of the dining and sitting rooms.
Much care and attention have been spent on ensuring that the castle
has retained its original atmosphere, whilst providing a welcoming
and charming home. Euan and Lisa Maclachlan are the resident owners
of the castle and, although busy running the estate, will always
make time to welcome visitors to their home.
Weddings
Castle Lachlan have a Civil Wedding License and are
able to hold weddings within the castle. Adjacent to the estate
is the beautiful Strathlachlan Parish Church.
