Markree
Castle is an ideal base for exploring the wonders of Ireland. In easy reach
of the castle are attractions such as the marble Arch Caves, Parke's Castle,
Lisadell, King House, Lough Key Forest Park, Ceide Fields, Foxford Woollen
Mills, Castle Coole, Florencourt, Carrowmore Megalithic Remains and Strokestown
House and Famine Museum.
For the golfer there are six courses, including the Rosses Point international
links course, within one hour's drive, and there is horseback riding on the
estate - anything from a one hour hack or lesson to a week's tour on horseback.
If fishing is your ideal way to relax, Easkey River and Ballisadare River
can provide Game Angling for your pleasure. Enniscore offers great Sea Angling
and Templehouse Lane offers excellent Coarse Angling.

Horse
Riding is available at McGarry's Stables and also at Markree's Stables. Markree
Stables can cater for anything from one hour's walk round the park to a day
trek in the mountains and woods.
