Whilst lodging in a castle, one must act like a laird and pursue some
country activities, most importantly honing one's shooting skills…
Whether it is to release some stress, emulate your action idols or just
for the heck of it, shooting at Melville Castle is guaranteed to start
your day with a bang. If the luxury accommodation and dining of Melville
Castle isn't relaxing enough, release your stress further by blasting
some innocent clays!
For guests of the castle, Melville Castle has teamed up with its close
neighbour - The Arniston Estate. Depending on the number of participants
and the time of year, guests can experience the power and exhilaration
of shooting clays, either in the wooded estate of Melville Castle or Arniston
House.
With fully qualified instructors to help at all times, the castle caters
for the novice as well as the experienced.
With a wide range of targets, Melville offers a fun packed day for all
participants. The range consists of 10 stands, each offering numerous
disciplines from the high pheasant, automatic ball trap, crossing pairs
and many more.
Archery, one of the most ancient forms of warfare, played a significant
role in Scotland's colourful history, of which Melville Castle did not
shy away from.
Make your stay at Melville Castle a true historic experience, and try
your hand at bowmanship under the careful eye and expert tuition of the
qualified instructor.
Archery is an excellent way to unwind, especially when set in the scenic
landscape of the Melville Estate.
Be the Laird of the estate; enjoy the opulence of the castle by night,
whilst perfecting your shooting skills by day!
