Location of Muckrach Castle
Set
in the rural Highlands of Scotland, Muckrach Castle offers the most spectacular
views of the surrounding Spey valley and Cairngorm mountains. Despite
its rural location, the castle is surprisingly accessible, being just
34 miles from Inverness airport, 3 miles from Grantown-on-Spey and 1 mile
from the nearby picturesque village of Dulnain Bridge, where you will
find all a local shop and post office amongst other things.
The castle is positioned in an area renowned for its outstanding scenery and wildlife, and provides an ideal base for a wide range of recreational opportunities. The nearby tourist centre of Aviemore offers recreation for both children and adults alike.
There is climbing and skiing available in the Cairngorms, fishing on the infamous River Spey, golfing on a choice of courses, woodland walks and nature trails amongst a host of popular attractions. Bird lovers may visit the RSPB reserves at Loch Garten and Abernethy, the nearby native pinewoods, and may be lucky enough to view the majestic osprey fishing in its natural surroundings.
