The castle is situated on the northern edge of the town of Thornbury, off the A38, which is 5 miles from junction 16 of the M5.

CASTLE MEETING ROOMS

As you might imagine, the conference and meetings rooms at Thornbury Castle are impressive; an inspiration to conference delegates and business executives.

The Baron’s Sitting Room

Situated on the upper level, The Baron''s Sitting Room is a fine rectangular wood-panelled room with windows at either end and a large, open, imposing fireplace.

The Tudor Hall

A magnificent, stone-walled room with a huge open fireplace, The Tudor Hall boasts a 5.5m long solid oak refectory table, suits of armour and walls adorned with Medieval weaponry, paintings and tapestry. If ever there was a room to plan a campaign, inspire the troops or celebrate victory in business, then this is it. The room can be lit by candelabra, although there's plenty of natural daylight through the multi-paned, 3½m high window. A door to the rear opens onto a patio.

PRIVATE DINING

Thornbury Castle has three private dining rooms, each one with its own unique charm and ambience. They are all Baronial in style with panelled walls, heraldic shields and open fires.

The Baron's Sitting Room

Overlooking the vineyard and courtyard, the Baron’s Sitting Room, with handsome wooden panelling and a wonderful open fireplace, provides the most perfect environment for a private party. Majestic and secluded, the atmosphere of this room contributes greatly to the success of a private lunch or dinner, be it family, friends or business.

The Tower Dining Room

A unique, octagonal room with large, imposing arrow-slit windows and magnificent open fireplace. This room has great character and makes for an unforgettable castle dining experience. It can seat a maximum of 30.

The Oriel Room

The Oriel Dining Room, with its open fireplace, is an intimate room seating a maximum of 20 persons. This a charming ‘L’ shaped room with historical paintings adorning the wood panelled walls.

The Tudor Hall

The Tudor Hall, a 16th century large open hall, is accentuated by an abundance of original features: suits of armour, tapestries and exposed walls, giving this room a distinctive and unforgettable atmosphere! And for the ultimate comfort, it also has underfloor heating, radiating through original oak floor boards.

Alongside the newly-completed satellite kitchen which provides AA rosetted quality food, The Tudor Hall also has two adjoining rooms, The Great Oven and The Boyling House, both of which can be utilised as additional space for your function - a private bar, for instance, or perhaps a casino room.

Off-site Activities:

Castle Quarry in Tytherington is a fantastic site for delegates to participate in team building events. The site is approximately a 10 minute drive from Thornbury Castle. Activities include: Aerial Runway, "The Challenge" (The Castle Quarry Challenge is orienteering with a difference, incorporating both mental and physical task or puzzles along the way - excellent for team building sessions with groups of all ages), abseiling, canoeing, bouldering - the bouldering cave is within the climbing wall, tunnels - over 500 feet of tunnels, climbing - in door climbing wall - with routes of varying difficulty is suitable for novice climbers, archery.
