Inside Castle Venlaw
Staying in an historic castle doesn’t mean having to give up on modern
comforts. Each of the castle's 12 individually-designed rooms has a private
en-suite bathroom, controllable central heating, a refreshments tray for that
first or last cup of the day and direct dial telephones. Satellite television
and a selection of books and magazines are there, too, to help with those
quiet relaxing moments. There is no lift in the castle, however the hotel
staff will be happy to assist with any luggage that guests may have.
Each room is named after a malt whisky, as individual in character as the
room itself. A miniature of the appropriate malt is set in a plaque in the
door of each room. Guests wishing a proper taste of whisky need only visit
the library to try out their room malt and possibly some neighbouring malts
as well…
Tucked quietly away on the third floor at the top of the castle’s tower
is the family suite. Here parents can enjoy a room to themselves with bathroom.
A door connects this room to the children’s ‘den’, equipped
with bunk beds and bright children’s furniture. There are also games,
magazines, TV and video on hand for their constant entertainment.
