| Before
the war, Château d'Audrieu, in the village of
Audrieu near Pavie, was a beautiful estate, with a lush
garden, servants' quarters, orchards, and woodland.
Following the dramatic events of World War II, this
beauty spot was converted into a luxury hotel and restaurant
and is an now an outstanding 18th century château and
listed building, set amongst exquisite French gardens
and parkland.
With original decorations of
exceptional quality combined with modern renovations,
the Château d'Audrieu offers comfort and tradition,
surrounded by tastefully terraced gardens.

This elegant Relais & Châteaux
establishment exhibits a supremely stylish setting with Louis
XV and Louis XVI wainscoting, period fireplaces and furniture
adding that personal touch to the ancestral family home of
Gérard and Irène Livry-Level.
The château achieves a fine balance
between the traditional and contemporary, partly through preservation
of the original architecture, and partially through the stylish
interior which houses a tastefully modern decor. The lounge
and dining rooms are a typical example, where the numerous
windows open onto the park and the main courtyard, recalling
the charm and splendour of a bygone era.
Located half-way between Caen and Bayeux,
at the gateway to Bessin, Château d'Audrieu is ideally situated
to explore the infamously historic Normandy and its memorials.
