Champagne welcome, followed by a visit of the château and a cheese and vintage wine
tasting supper in the billiard room, in front of the monumental XIVth century fireplace...
December 23rd
Your chauffeur driven day begins with Chenonceau Castle, then drive past the
Royal Palace of Amboise to Leonardo da Vinci’s home. Pick up in your costumes,
pre-ordered to your measurements, then let yourself be introduced to the unique
culinary art of the Renaissance. Gala dinner under the direction of masterchef
Sieur Sausin, with musicians and magicians exactly as if you were in 1530...
December 24th
Explore the Abbeye de L’Epau followed by the old city of Le Mans, home of the
Plantagenet Kings and stage set to numerous films, with many chic little boutiques and alluring cafés.
Return to Château de La Barre for a festive Christmas Eve dinner with all the family silver and crystal.
December 25th
Relax by the fireside around the tree, or attend Christmas Day mass in the Abbeye
Cathedral in Vendôme, with the oldest stainglass window of the 'Virgin Mary
with child' in the Western World...Then discover the small and picturesque
little Loir valley, with its Renaissance Château of La Possonnière, home
of Court poet Ronsard, the troglodyte village of Trôo, the romanesque chapels
of Montoire and Lavardin with their XIIIth century frescoes. The Relais d’Antan
in Lavardin will welcome you for a gourmet dinner after sunset.
December 26th
A drive down to admire the Winter gardens in Villandry, the unique furniture
collection of Cheverny, or the architectural prowess of Chambord Castle...the
possibilities are endless! In the evening, enjoy a selection of delicious
restaurants of the region in the middle of the Bercé forest.
December 27th
After brunch, depart with a special present from the château to finish the year
in style.
