Set deep in the heart of the Chantilly forest and yet only 35 kilometers from Paris, Château de Montvillargene is the perfect place to explore this wonderful part of France.
Chantilly, a jewe lbox of equestrian past times, offers the magic of its Living Horse Museum with spectacular events and the famous racecourse.
The Château de Chantilly has one of the finest museums of historical paintings in France (after the Louvre in Paris) and a library well stocked with rare and precious books and manuscripts. The wonderful gardens are enhanced with water jets, canals and even a waterfall.
Senlis, only 10 km away, is a royal city worth a visit. Visits can be arranged to the Champagne cellars to sample their delights.
Paris is only 35 minutes by direct train from Chantilly, making it very accessible for day trips. You will need more than a day to savour this wonderful city with its fantastic buildings, historical monuments and vibrant street cafes.
If holidaying with children, the Mer de Sable theme park is nearby or you can enjoy a day at the Disneyland Paris resort, a 45 minute drive from the château.
