We really appreciated the hotel staff taking us up to the castle battlements - it was a big hit with my children, and we got some spectacular pictures. The Belle Isle Estate was a great place to stay. The coach house was very comfortable. Charles, the estate manager, made us feel very welcome. Our children loved the space, the friendly donkeys and were fascinated by the cows being milked. All in all a fantastic break for the whole family. The staff made us feel extremely welcome, as if we were guests in their home, rather than guests in a hotel. They were very relaxed and encouraged us to wander around the castle as much as we liked.
