The city of Dublin was voted the friendliest city in Europe in a recent survey. With this in mind, I am going to explore what there is to do in Dublin for people of all age groups!
The History of Ireland can be traced through this fantastic city at a number of locations. The Easter Rising Tour takes visitors on a journey through the streets of the city where, in 1916, 1600 men fought a 6 day bloody battle in the name of Irish Nationalism. The tour then proceeds to the site of Kilmainham Gaol where the British kept the rebels before their execution.
The Guiness Factory in Dublin is the city’s biggest tourist attraction and provides a fantastic tour for stout lovers and haters alike! The tour promises an insightful history of Ireland as well as a focussed look at the drink itself. The tour includes a free token, entitling visitors to a pint of Guiness each (at the end of the tour, of course!).
For those not yet old enough to tackle such intoxicating liquors, there’s the fantastic sites of Dublin Zoo – giraffe, tigers, hippos, bats, lions, rare monkeys, gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and red pandas, to name but a few of the amazing animals you’ll find waiting for you around every corner.
If any of the above sounds tempting, we can make your holiday even more special by offering a range of surprisingly affordable castle accommodation, based close to the thriving city, ensuring that you can truly relax in style.
Barberstown Castle is situated just 30 minutes from Dublin airport, and is one of the oldest castles still in operation in the whole of Ireland.
