You and the love of your life have just gotten engaged and are beyond thrilled to spend the rest of your lives together. You call your family and friends to inform them of this most fabulous news and Champagne is popped in your honour. Yay! So, what happens next? Wedding planning happens next and I’m here to help you figure out how to plan for this ever-so-important event!
It’s never too early to start planning, so if you’re still looking for 2016, 2017 or even starting to consider 2018, the earlier you book, the sooner you can secure your date and the more time you'll have to budget for it! Wedding venues can be booked up to two years in advance, and it’s best to reserve one as early as possible to have the best chance at getting that particular date for when you say "I do"!
There are so many wonderful venues out there and each offers something different, so it’s best to start thinking about your initial priorities. Top on my agenda when booking my venue was location. You have to consider the logistics of not only you and the groom, but your guests too. It might be you have guests willing to travel as far as it will take, but you also may have an elderly relative who may find a long travel distance difficult. Work out what fits best for the dynamics of your wedding party.
Then we looked at price. Sit down and consider your budget. How much do you want ot or can you afford to spend on your 'Big Day' and can the venue you’re interested in fit that budget?
Finally, if you’re keen on a venue, go to see it. Based on my own experience, visiting castles is THE best way to figure out if a venue is perfect for you. I liked the look of my chosen property from the website, but I LOVED the actual feel of it when we were having our show-around.
On the Celtic Castles website, we have a wide range of amazing castle venues and the team here would love to help you find your dream wedding location. Using our unique knowledge and expertise, we can guide you around the most suitable properties, help set up wedding visits, check date availability and send quotations through to you to help you make that important decision. And best of all, we offer this service to you free-of-charge!
So, here’s a little overview of my top 3 things to consider when you start looking for your venue:
(1) Location – Let’s narrow down which castles are in the best locations for your needs.
(2) Price – What budget are you working with and do our short-listed castles fit this?
(3) Wedding Visit – Make the most of the free Celtic Castles' service and let us work out your itinerary and get you booked in to view your chosen castle properties.
And remember…start looking now to ensure you secure your dream castle..there’s no such thing as too early when it comes to wedding planning!
