I always say that a castle is not just for Christmas; it is for ever! When I say this, it is the memory it gives and the imprint that it leaves on people's lives. Staying in a castle is not like staying in a hotel, where you stay and might simply forget the place as you leave. Castle experiences stick around for a bit longer.
Jonathan asked us to help him find a suitable castle to celebrate a special event in his family and we were delighted to hear from him after his stay.
If you are booking a castle in 2016 or 2017, get it in the diary now, then everyone in your family has something to look forward to. Remember, it is not every day you stay in a castle! Taking a castle on a self-catering basis generally means you can stay longer in the property, as the costs per day and per person become much more affordable, especially for family groups.
"My family and I had a superb time at the castle and would highly recommend it to all people looking for somewhere special to stay. The three days will be in our memories for many years to come. The owners were very welcoming and provided a historic tour, which enhanced our enjoyment. The children loved exploring the rooms, playing hide and seek and board games, in front of the log fire.
The suggestion of having food delivered by a local supermarket and also having a chef cook one night was excellent advice by Celtic Castles. Thanks Roger and your team.
Ros Cartner, the chef, was superb. Her fillet of beef was one of the most enjoyable main courses I have tasted and the cheesecake was delicious. I would recommend anyone staying in this historic and tremendously well-equipped castle to undertake the tour and explore the surrounding area, taking a walk to the local pub, which does take approx 45 minutes to see it all, but great enjoyment for the whole family.
I and others in the family have already recommend the stay to family and friends and one in Edinburgh is already being considered. Fantastic and thanks again. (Hopefully we, as a family, can do this again)."
