Fine dining at Appleby Castle...

Appleby Castle is rapidly becoming a must-visit destination for food lovers, with a choice of fine dining options on-site.

The Malice Scourge, Appleby Castle's on-site restaurant, is located in the old great hall and is dominated by a large Medieval fireplace. This is one of the older rooms in the castle.

The incredibly experienced team at the castle create exceptional menus with an innovative flair, using locally-sourced ingredients; this is something they're very proud of.

The main dining room at Appleby was first built in 1454 by Thomas, the 8th Lord Clifford, and then refurbished in 1686 with the addition of the Westmorland oak panelling, which still encases the room to this day.
