Augill Castle's family philosophy is to look after the whole family, not just the kids, by giving you space and freedom to be yourselves.
The castle can be a peaceful, relaxed and decadently romantic place to stay, but has a genuinely family friendly vibe too, whether you're with toddlers or teenagers, grandparents, relatives or friends.
Simon and Wendy, the owners, have brought up both their children at the castle and many of their team have raised their families locally too, so they know what works, what to do, where to visit, where to eat... There's also the famous Augill Little Cooks children's cookery school.
The Library has books, games and toys and is perfect for building train tracks or drawing and painting. There is a cinema (and popcorn too) and outside twenty acres to explore, where you'll find a well loved tree house, tennis court and playground.
For teenagers those twenty acres provide plenty of scope to lose or find themselves and WiFi works almost everywhere in the castle. Beyond that the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales offer a whole world of adventure and activities on the doorstep. Why not get out and explore the Eden Valley on two wheels?
Eating at Augill is fun too and, once bed beckons, there are family rooms, interconnecting rooms, suites and everything you might need when travelling with children, from cots & highchairs to baby monitors & spare supplies.
