• Barcaldine Castle is experiencing high demand for 2018 and 2019; book early to avoid disappointement!

    Bedrooms

The views from all of the rooms at Barcaldine Castle are breathtaking, restricted only by the size of the windows. The dramatic landscape and colours are constantly changing with the seasons, and no two days will be the same – but all of them are equally incredible!

Each room has a luxurious king-size bed with either loch views or views of the open countryside to the front of the castle. Free Wi-Fi is also available, together with a healthy selection of games, books & magazines.

    Breadalbane

    Sleeps up to 2 guests

The Breadalbane Room is the largest room at Barcaldine Castle and features a recently-acquired super-king-size four-poster bed. This bed was commissioned in 1898 by Andrew Carnegie for Skibo Castle and was moved to Barcaldine Castle in 2015.

The oak flooring complements the dark oak furniture of the period. The stunning views over Loch Creran, the Appin Hills and Glencoe in the distance really make this room. The room has a spacious bathroom with a roll-top bath and walk-in shower.

    Lochnell

    Sleeps up to 3 guests

This is the newest addition to the guest bedrooms at Barcaldine Castle. The newly exposed stonework and the Portland Stone fireplace give a focal point to the room. The 17th century Jacobean four-poster bed is complemented by other period furniture.

The south-east turret leading off this room has a carved writing desk and mirror, along with stunning views across Loch Creran. The en-suite bathroom in the Lochnell has a roll-top bath and shower.

    Caithness

    Sleeps up to 3 guests

Situated at the top of the castle, this room boasts arguably one of the best views to the North-East over Loch Creran and towards Glencoe. The north-west corner of this room, one of the castle’s three turrets, is now a small dressing area.

The antique French furniture throughout this room is complemented by the use of mohair and velvet fabrics to dress the king-size bed. The bathroom features a roll-top bath and shower.

    Barcaldine

    Sleeps up to 2 guests

This is a large and comfortable room with antique mahogany furniture throughout. Windows face across the garden to the South, Lochan Dhub and the ancient pines beyond. From this room, on a clear evening, you can enjoy a stunning Scottish sunset as it is meant to be seen.

The newly refurbished bathroom benefits from a roll-top bath and shower.

    Airds

    Sleeps up to 2 guests

Configured as a twin or super-king-size double room, dependant on your preference, this is a lovely room. With a turreted dressing area, it boasts aspects across the gardens to the West, the mountains beyond and Lochan Dhub.

This room features an en-suite toilet and walk-in shower.

    Argyll

    Sleeps up to 2 guests

The Argyll Room has a double aspect with views across the garden to the South-West, Lochan Dhub and the ancient pines beyond. The room has ornate white furniture and an en-suite shower room.

"Everything in Barcaldine Castle is perfect; the warm welcome, the beautifully clean and comfortable room, the delicious breakfast, the stunning location. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in our very own castle and would highly recommend Barcaldine."
