The north east counties of Cavan, Monaghan and Tyrone are host to many fine pike angling venues. With its idyllic setting in Co. Monaghan and its variety of accommodation to suit all preferences, Castle Leslie Estate is the perfect location for a fishing holiday in Ireland. Why not combine the unique experience of a stay on the estate with excellent fishing in one of Ireland's best-preserved lakes and day trips to a variety of quality angling venues in the vicinity?
Managed with care by the Leslie family for generations, the beautiful 'Glaslough', or Green Lake, is considered by many to be one of the best-preserved lakes in Ireland. It is synonymous with monster pike: in 1991, a specimen weighing 38lb 9oz (17.5kg) was caught in the lake and broke the 18-year official Irish record.
Choose to stay in the castle, the lodge or, if you prefer your independence, why not reserve a self-catering Old Stable Mews or Village Cottage, perfect for groups and families.
Originally the estate's cut-stone stable, The Lodge has now been restored to include 29 bedrooms, Snaffle's Restaurant and the social hub of the estate - Conor's Bar.
Originally the Leslie family nursery, now a unique bedroom with wonderful views over the lake. The giant dolls' house reveals a hidden shower room!
