Relax and enjoy a taste of history in Samuel's Restaurant

Samuel’s Restaurant was built by Samuel Cunliffe-Lister in 1880 as part of major works that were carried out at Swinton Park when he bought the estate on his retirement. This is a spacious and airy room, with sweeping views over the gardens and the Home Lake, and a distinct ornate gold leaf ceiling.

The restaurant at Swinton Park is heavily inspired by locally produce and fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel's four-acre walled garden (the largest hotel kitchen garden in the UK) and, because of this, the menus change throughout the year based on the seasons. The hotel is surrounded by a 20,000 acre estate stretching from the River Ure in Wensleydale up onto the moorland Dales and estate venison, rabbit, smoked trout and game are a few examples of the local ingredients sourced from it.

The Head Chef enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality of the food served at Swinton Park's 3 AA Rosette Restaurant. The restaurant has been awarded membership of the esteemed Chaine de Rotisseurs association, and is listed in Hardens as a 'Top Scorer'. The hotel has also been awarded membership of the Tea Guild, in recognition of its excellent quality of service and high standards.

With the addition of the multi-million pound Swinton Country Club & Spa in 2017 came the Terrace restaurant and bar. The perfect accompaniment for a relaxing spa day, or special treat.

The Terrace restaurant and bar combines globally inspired flavours with our Estate grown seasonal produce. Here you can enjoy nourishing, flavoursome and classic dishes with a fresh new feel. Poolside you will find kitchen to lounger service with fresh juices, hot drinks and snacks. Grab and Go snacks are available from the Estate shop.
