Celebrate Christmas 2019 at Swinton Park

Swinton Park is located in the heart of Yorkshire and is surrounded by the family estate in which guests have access to rivers, reservoirs, moorland, dales and beautiful countryside bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Whilst steeped in history and tradition, the atmosphere at Swinton Park is one of warmth and hospitality, and guests cannot fail but to feel at home in this castle.

What it Includes...

Christmas Eve

  • From 2 pm to 4 pm Meet the team, with a serving of drinks in the Lower Hall, Morning Room and Private Sitting Room. Meanwhile, the Front of House Manager and the team will take your luggage to your room;
  • From 3pm to 5pm Tea time! A traditional afternoon tea is served in in the Drawing Room;
  • 6.15 pm For those wishing to join the Masham Methodist Choir and handbell ringers, a glass of bubbly and canapés will be served before moving through to the Library for Carols at 6.30 pm;
  • From 7 pm Dinner will be served in the Samuel’s Restaurant and the Terrace Restaurant, at a time to suit you (advance bookings required)!;
  • From 10.30 pm For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass, the castle's minibus will transport you to the local parish church in Masham. The castle will serve alcohol-laced treats on your return with warmed mince pies.

Christmas Day

  • From 8 am - 10 am Breakfast and Bucks Fizz are served in Samuel's Restaurant;
  • From 12.30 pm Champagne cocktails will be served in the Drawing Room before lunch and a final chance to pre-order wine;
  • 1 pm Time to head through to Samuel's Restaurant for the traditional Christmas feast;
  • 3 pm - The Queens Speech will be screened in the private cinema at the back of the Billiards Room, followed by Christmas films. Board games will be available in the Drawing Room - as will cheese, port and sherry!;
  • From 7 pm - 9 pm - A relaxed buffet is served in the Lower Hall, with the castle's team of chefs.

Boxing Day

  • From 8 am - 12 pm Breakfast and Bloody Marys will be served in Samuel's Restaurant. For late risers, service will continue through until 12 pm;
  • 10.15 am For those wanting to join the team on a guided walk around Masham, please meet in the Morning Room. The first stop will be at the town square to see the hunt on its way, where the Castle Manager will meet you for hot drinks and goodies. The castle's Head Concierge will act as Tour Guide;
  • 12 pm - 1 pm The team invites you to join them for a drink (soft or alcoholic!) in the Drawing Room, talking all things 'Swinton' and would love to hear your feedback so far;
  • 12 pm – 5 pm Drop into the Cookery School for a Bread or Macaroon making session, running throughout the afternoon;
  • 2 pm - 3 pm Enjoy a falconry display by Sophie Abbott, the castle's resident Falconer;
  • From 7 pm The 'house party' gets underway with a pre-dinner Champagne cocktail party and Boxing Day toast;
  • 8 pm Time for dinner in Samuel's (posh frocks and black tie). A wine flight to accompany the meal is included. After dinner, the Casino commences, in the Drawing Room.

27 December 2019

  • Enjoy a final Christmas breakfast in Samuel’s Restaurant and strong coffee for the journey home;
  • 11 am Check-out time when you will be bid a fond farewell and the front of house team will hand out gifts to see you on your way.

All rates are per room for the 3-night package, including overnight accommodation and breakfast, as well as the meals and drinks detailed above, and use of the leisure facilities from 3 pm day of arrival until 11 am the day of departure.

Rates for children sharing a room with two adults, including all meals within the package and use of a cot and high chair or z-bed are:
under 3 years no charge;
4yrs – 9 years £300 per child;
10 years – 17 years £450 per child.

If you would like to bring a dog with you, the rate is £25 per dog per night.

Additional nights - if you would like to stay an additional night before or after the Christmas break, preferential rates may be available. Additional nights are subject to availability.

A £500 per room deposit is required against single occupancy bookings and a £750 per room deposit against double occupancy bookings.
The full balance is required by 1 October 2019.
For bookings made after 1 October 2019, full payment is required at the time of booking.
