Bovey Castle Christmas Package 2023

Bovey Castle Castle Hotel is idyllically set in the heart of England's Dartmoor National Park.

At Christmas, the castle is transformed into a festive hideaway. Plump armchairs nestle against tables laden with walnuts and oranges; rooms are illuminated by spectacular Christmas trees and sparkling decorations.

This is a great package for families, with activities, storytelling, and a visit from Father Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Arrive at Bovey Castle for a host of festive activities, including cider & sloe gin making followed by afternoon tea accompanied by carol singing. An early children’s high tea is offered in Smith’s Brasserie. Your evening includes welcome drinks and a five-course dinner accompanied by the castle's pianist.

Christmas Day

Enjoy breakfast followed by a visit from Father Christmas who will be giving out gifts for younger guests. In the morning, enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate by trying out the brass rubbing trail. The revelry begins with a drinks' reception followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western Grill accompanied by a harpist. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech, which will be shown in the lounges with tea and mince pies. An informal buffet dinner will be served in the evening.

Boxing Day

After breakfast, sign up for the golf tournament, join the castle team for a guided walk, or take part in a treasure hunt around the castle and grounds. In the afternoon, the castle's much-loved ferret racing is a firm favourite, as is the ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, served with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Family activities are available all day. A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will also be served in one of the lounges throughout the afternoon with a magician and jazz band to entertain. High tea will be available for any young children. Finish your day with a cocktail reception and five-course dinner in the Great Western Grill (dress code – cocktail dresses and lounge suits) followed by entertainment from a singer.

Stay over Christmas in one of the superb 3-bedroom self-catering lodges and have the flexibility with your time but with food available in Smith’s Brasserie. The 3-night package, starting on Christmas Eve includes afternoon tea on arrival and a 3-course Christmas Day lunch, both served in Smith’s Brasserie.

Prices are from £3,310 for 4 adults sharing a lodge for 3 nights. Additional adults are charged at £190 each and children at £115 each. Smith’s Brasserie will also be available for dinner on Christmas Eve and lunch on Boxing Day. Restrictions apply*.

*Christmas Eve dinner and Boxing Day lunch is not included in the package and pre-booking is recommended; there is no access to main hotel lounges, bar, or restaurant over this 3-day period. Smith’s Brasserie is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day evenings.
