Itinerary

Day 1-3 - Broughton Hall

The first destination of Bethany's Celtic Castles tour is Broughton Sanctuary, nestled in picturesque countryside just minutes from the charming market town of Skipton. See what Bethany has to say about this gorgeous property below...

"While Broughton Hall primarily operates as an exclusive-use venue, guests can book a stay in Bell Flat, a stylish two-bedroom apartment located in a private wing of the castle, or choose from one of the characterful cottages across the estate. Overnight guests have access to the Avalon Wellbeing Centre, which boasts a 20-metre low-chemical pool, hydro-massage pool, sauna, steam room, and tranquil treatment rooms. Be sure to check the event calendar too, as they regularly host spiritual retreats and a variety of classes, from yoga to pilates. Within the estate, you can also enjoy wild swimming and a woodland sauna."

Day 4-5 - Swinton Estate

The next stop on your tour is Swinton Park, a stately castle hotel set within a 20,000-acre estate in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales! Bethany highlights how "This luxurious country retreat blends historic charm with contemporary comforts, offering elegant rooms and suites that reflect the grandeur of its heritage. For a more private escape, guests can opt for the secluded tree lodges or cosy cottages scattered across the estate."

See what else she has to say about this hidden gem below...

"Swinton Park is also home to the award-winning Swinton Country Club & Spa, where guests can unwind in the indoor pool, thermal suite, and alfresco spa garden complete with a natural pool and herbal sauna. Wellness classes, from meditation to outdoor yoga, are offered regularly, and the estate’s extensive grounds invite you to explore walking trails, fishing lakes, and even a bird-of-prey centre. Don’t miss the chance to dine at Samuel’s, the fine-dining restaurant showcasing the estate's organically grown produce and seasonal ingredients."

Day 6-7 - Langley Castle

The final stop on your castle tour is Langley Castle, a striking 14th-century castle located in the tranquil Northumberland countryside, not far from the iconic Hadrian’s Wall. As Bethany asserted, this castle is "steeped in history and full of character; the castle offers an atmospheric stay, with many rooms located within the original castle walls. For a particularly indulgent experience, book the Radcliffe Room, complete with its own private sauna, vaulted ceilings, and grand four-poster bed."

If this sounds like the perfect end to a perfect tour, see some more information from Bethany below...

"Langley Castle invites guests to step back in time with daily Battlement Tours and charming period features throughout. While it doesn’t offer a full spa, the serene setting makes it an ideal place to relax and recharge. Evenings can be spent unwinding by the fire or dining in Josephine’s Restaurant, where menus celebrate the best of local produce. And with its dark sky location, Langley offers a spectacular opportunity for stargazing once night falls."
