We highly recommend staying at Blackcraig Castle! Our time spent there was magical from the moment we drove onto the grounds. The castle itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and cozy environment in every room, but the real warmth came from the staff. Linzi made sure that all our requests for our stay were taken care of before we arrived; our butler, James, made us all feel like royalty and was an entertaining conversationalist; and our chef, Marinna, was sensational. Our family of 10 had more than challenging dietary restrictions, but that did not stop Marinna from serving us absolutely phenomenal meals. Our only regret was not booking a longer stay. Three nights was not enough time to take in everything that Blackcraig Castle has to offer!
Snuggling next the blazes in the majestic fireplaces, playing board games in the wood panelled drawing room and relishing the delish meals, we had a wonderfully memorable New Year's family get-away at Blackcraig's impressive Baronial castle and grounds. Yet the hospitality triumph of the holiday are the team at Blackcraig, led by the owner's super-capable and friendly daughter Linzi. From the get-go, Linzi was fabulous communicating with us, arranging Hogmanay reservations and transport and catering to our every whim. Chef Laura is AMAZING with gastronomic talent spanning global cuisines (experienced superyacht chef) and Claire was an amiable friendly butler. They truly make you feel both at home --- while spoiling you rotten. Bravo!
Fabulous time helped by wonderfully dry warm and sunny weather so we were able to explore the grounds and play golf and croquet- with varying degrees of success!!!! James ( butler) and Marinna(chef) were first class . The food was amazing and our tastes catered for. I celebrated my 80th birthday there with family and everyone enjoyed it.
John, Linda, and thier daughter Linzi were outstanding in making my family feel warm and at home. They went above and beyond in their excellence. Chef Laura is a genius, and our butler, Calum, was professional and thoughtful.
Quiet valley with very few tourists. The views were breathtaking!
