Blairquhan Castle is Scotland’s jewel. Situated in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, this remarkable piece of Regency architecture is far more than just a wedding venue - it has history, it has character, but most of all, it has charm. You couldn’t wish for a more romantic setting for your wedding day. Couple this with the phenomenal food and service that you will receive from the experienced team and you have the perfect recipe for the perfect day.
The spectacular salon can comfortably seat up to 70 guests, along with 20 more around the impressive upstairs balcony. Once your vows have been exchanged, you will no doubt be ready to enjoy a delicious bespoke meal, one that has been prepared using only the finest local, seasonal produce.
If you choose to make use of both the big and small drawing rooms, the castle can seat up to 100 guests around elegantly-decorated round tables. The castle’s stunning dining room is the perfect setting for the traditional cutting of the cake, as well as for the evening buffet and the arrival drinks earlier in the day. Of course, if you would prefer to use another part of the castle for any of these, the wedding coordinators would be very happy to accommodate your wishes.

Accommodation
Once the celebrations have come to a halt, you and your guests will want to retire to your respective rooms. The castle sleeps 30 guests in 15 spacious bedrooms, individually designed in a sumptuous, yet elegant fashion that will make you feel completely at home. Period furniture sits side-by-side with modern bathrooms that have been installed with great attention to detail.
For larger groups, the estate is home to eight secluded cottages, between them offering accommodation for an additional 49 guests.
The Gardens
Beautifully integrated into the 200 acres of parkland that make up the estate, the unique gardens are something to behold. They were originally laid out back in 1816 and much of the landscaping still remains to this day, most notably the unique walled garden.

Location
Blairquhan is located 50 miles south of Glasgow and Glasgow International Airport. Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport are less than 100 miles away. Prestwick International Airport is 15 miles away, with frequent flights to London, Dublin, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and many other destinations, the number of which is rapidly increasing.

I'm not sure I have the right words to do this review justice - Nan, Rose and the rest of the team at Blairquhan went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding weekend was one to remember. Communication was exceptional from the get-go: all of our questions were answered and every request for yet ANOTHER visit was accommodated. Even our suppliers commented on how impressed they were with the contact Blairquhan had with them in the lead-up to the wedding. The bedrooms were stunning and incredibly comfortable, and we really appreciated some guidance as to which rooms may suit guests best depending on their requirements. We also utilised all of the cottages, and were blown away by those too. Every bite of food that we consumed was delicious - this included a pre-wedding meal, breakfast on the wedding morning, our wedding meal, a buffet and another breakfast the following day. Literally couldn't fault any of it! So many guests commented on how good the food was, and it was very inclusive for dietary requirements. After our wedding, we learned that there had been an issue with the company who were supplying the breakfast... none of us had any idea there were any problems as Blairquhan's incredible staff stepped in and took over Breakfast duty with no delay or complaints. We were all so well looked after all weekend and made to feel that the staff genuinely cared about our experience and took immense pride in their work. We are so so so full of gratitude, 'thank you' will never be enough. Now we just have to find a decent excuse to come back!
We can’t thank staff enough for making this such a happy and successful wedding. The combination of such a beautiful castle, so comfortable and decorated beautifully throughout, and staff who went the extra mile to ensure that all our requirements were met, made for the perfect wedding. Our guests loved it. Special mention to Nan for ensuring the itinerary suited all our needs and to Martin who executed it perfectly, nothing was a problem anything we needed was sorted immediately, an absolute star.
I really loved our stay there. Nan, Anee were great in arranging everything, Martin was brilliant helping us onsite, Castle team is simply the best. Castle was warm, food delicious, every activity nicely planned and team was flexible if we needed to change anything. Extremely grateful to everyone who made our stay nice and cozy. The only thing I would fancy is to have some tea bags in the room, so I could enjoy it before bed.
Would recommend. Property as advertised. Staff accommodating and practical to work with. Kind, diligent, and attentive staff at property. Bedrooms are very comfortable and elegant. Common areas are slightly commercialized, which takes away a bit from the charm.
Attended this beautiful castle for my friends wedding in November and it didn't disappoint. When the bride came down the staircase it was like something magical from a Disney film. The rooms were stunning and the staff were brilliant.
