A wonderful intimate setting for small weddings, Fenton Tower resides in the beautiful North Berwick countryside, just 20 miles east of Edinburgh. The tower can hold weddings for up to 50 guests on an exclusive-use basis, with a minimum of 2 nights’ accommodation for up to 12 guests (further accommodation for an additional 8 guests is also available). Along with your closest family and friends, you are free to enjoy this unique place as your own private home for the duration of your wedding and celebrations.
All your wedding arrangements can be handled in house by Fenton’s small but dedicated team, enabling you to hand over the reins and look forward to your wedding with ease.
Intimate weddings are all about celebrating love in a personal and meaningful way. With fewer guests, you get to truly enjoy each moment and spend quality time with those who matter most. A historic setting like Fenton Tower adds warmth, character and a sense of occasion that makes everything feel even more special.
A unique wedding ceremony and reception drinks
The Great Hall will be transformed into your wedding chapel, complete with log fire, signing table and gilded throne. Exchange your vows amongst the hanging tapestries, original features and peaceful ambience of the gently-hued interiors.
Your reception drinks will take place in the Great Hall after your ceremony or, if weather permits, outside in front of the tower. At any time of year, Fenton Tower’s atmospheric surrounding landscape of moors and woodland will create a scenic backdrop to your wedding photos.
House-party wedding
After reception drinks, everyone can make their way to the candlelit vaulted dining room, which can seat up to 20 guests on one long table, or up to 32 guests on 5 tables for your wedding breakfast. Fenton Tower collaborates with the Edinburgh Catering Company who will work with you to create a delicious menu using the finest Scottish produce and served with unwavering hospitality.
Maybe you’ll choose to have speeches and toasts after the wedding breakfast before chatting with your guests over a drink in front of the cosy Great Hall’s fireplace, wandering the grounds or enjoying the music.
If you decide to have evening guests join your wedding celebrations, Fenton Tower has a maximum capacity of 50 guests, so you can easily add to the wedding party. Later, dance the night away in the Great Hall of Fenton Tower, making your own history in this storied setting where past and present come together in unforgettable celebration.
Marquee wedding
Larger weddings of up to 200 guests can be held in a marquee which would be placed on the grounds. This option would require you to book exclusive use of Fenton Tower and its additional estate accommodation for a minimum of 2 nights. An event manager would be included but you would be responsible for arranging all associated equipment and services with regard to the wedding day and celebrations.
Wedding accommodation
Fenton Tower can accommodate up to 12 adults and 3 children in its beautifully-styled en-suite bedrooms showcasing ornate 4-poster beds or comfy single beds, each one lovingly decorated with a traditional and gentle country aesthetic.
Immerse yourselves in these cosy rooms, featuring floral drapes, tartan soft furnishings, authentic rugs and antique wooden furniture. Wake up to a hearty full Scottish breakfast each morning.
Additional accommodation is available on the estate in the 2-bedroomed lodge and cottage (each sleeping 4 guests), enabling a party of up to 20 wedding guests to stay overnight.

I booked Fenton Tower for my 40th birthday party on the basis of the good reviews and I was not disappointed! The space itself is wonderful, better than the pictures, the surrounding area was fantastic, but most of all the staff were superlative. They made everything perfect. The food was delicious - particularly the seafood platter and the haggis - the drinks were great and reasonably priced, the rooms were spotless. It really was an incredible treat. We took the neighbouring lodge rooms too, which my guests loved - spacious, modern, fresh, with a great view. I was worried that they would feel ‘seperated’ from the rest of the party but instead they were glowing. Perfect experience. Thank you Alan and all!
Fenton tower was everything we hoped it to be and so much more. The castle staff where exceptional. Food on the Friday night was delicious, really outstanding. The activities arranged, shooting and whiskey tasting where perfect, great value for money. We will be back!!!
