Thornbury Castle offers the perfect backdrop for a fairy-tale wedding. Whether you are looking for exclusive use of the estate with a grandshowstopper party or a more intimate celebration with a handful of loved ones.
Ceremonies can be conducted in the stunning church or outside within the castle walls in one of the stunning gardens. The breathtaking Tudor Hall is a breathtaking room for Wedding Breakfasts with mullion window, exposed stone walls, intricate tapestries, and a large original fireplace.
In recent years, the castle had undergone a multimillion pound investment . Inside you will find a stunning and romantic wedding venue with luxurious furnishings and royal touches inspired by the Tudor period.
Dining
Thornbury Castle is known for its superb cuisine and the mouth-watering dishes. Recently awarded 3 AA Rosettes and 4 Red Stars for its attentive service. Dishes are locally sourced or grown onsite with ingredients will delight the taste buds.

After the celebrations, you can relax in one of 26 carefully-restored and individual designed bedchambers. Every room boasts iconic period details alongside lavishly realised bathrooms and furnishings.
Prices
Thornbury Castle provides a romantic and historic setting for your wedding, with packages that can be tailored to your specific requirements – from intimate elopements to grand exclusive-use celebrations. While guide packages are available, the team will work closely with you to create a bespoke experience designed around your vision.
As a Guide:
- Elopement Package – from £3,000 based on the wedding couple only.
- Baron's Wedding Package – from £5,000 based on 20 guests (available on selected midweek dates).
- Elegance Wedding Package – from £13,000 based on 50 guests (up to 70 guests maximum).
For larger celebrations, Thornbury Castle can accommodate up to 120 guests for an evening reception. Your final price will depend on your chosen date, guest numbers, and any extra touches you would like to include.

Location
Thornbury Castle stands in the South Gloucestershire countryside, on the edge of The Cotswolds. The city of Bristol is just 12 miles away, with historic Bath also close by. The journey from London takes around 2 hours by car. Alternatively you can take a 90 minute train ride from London Paddington to Bristol, then the castle is approx 30 mins away by taxi.

What a magical place! My family felt like we were stepping into a different time, like a fairy tale life. The Castle is such a great blend of historical features yet well maintained and comfort. The grounds are so peaceful, staff so helpful and rooms so grand - my family did not want to leave! I only wish we booked fewer day activities off campus so we could have hung out at Thornbury even more.

Thornberry Castle set our standards high. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and seen. The receptionist was friendly and kind. Our room was well equipped, and a birthday celebration had been set up for me in advance. Every single meal was delectable. We enjoyed walking the grounds and walking the short distance into town. Highly recommend this castle.
Everything about this hotel was top notch. The service and staff members were excellent! All the food was delicious. The room and bed in the Jane Seymour Suite were large and comfortable. I appreciated the special balloons, champagne and chocolate for my birthday, as well as the sloe gin and delicious snacks. This stay couldn't have been any better!
Where to even begin! Thornbury was INCREDIBLE. Surpassed our wildest dreams in every which way. We had an incredible film shoot there over the course of four days, and the most luxurious accommodations. I can't say enough good things about Jo, Jayne, and the whole Thornbury team.
