The fires are glowing, the halls are dressed in their festive finest, and the scent of spiced treats fills the air. It's Christmas at Dalhousie Castle!

Wake up on Christmas morning in Scotland's oldest inhabited castle, where history, charm and seasonal sparkle surround you.

Dalhouse Castle, just eight miles from Edinburgh, is a majestic 13th-century retreat that feels a world away from the everyday.

This year we invite you to embrace the wonder of the season with a festive escape like no other, complete with music, merriment and moments to treasure.

24 December

• Arrive to the swirling sound of the bagpipes as you're welcomed into the castle courtyard. Settle in with a delightful festive afternoon tea in the Ramsey Suite;
• Uncover centuries of folklore with a storytelling of Dalhousie's myths and legends in the historic Chapel;
• Enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the grand Alexander Suite, followed by a seasonal dinner crafted by chef and his team;
• Gather for a warming glass of mulled wine in one of the lounges with traditional carol singing, then return to your room to find a special turndown gift awaiting you!

Christmas Day

• Wake to magical presents delivered to each guest room, and a hearty Scottish breakfast to start the day;
• Enjoy a festive tipple with pre-lunch drinks in the Ramsay Suite before gathering for a traditional Christmas Day lunch;
• Spend time later exploring the flavours of Scotland with a guided whisky tasting in the castle's atmosphere Dungeon. The day ends on a relaxed note with an elegant evening buffet.

Boxing Day

• After a leisurely breakfast, unwind with complimentary mini spa treatment to refresh body and mind;
• A delicious carvery lunch is served in the castle Dungeon, followed by the thrill of laser clay shooting on the castle lawn;
• Dress to impress this evening, for a drinks' reception and indulge in a spectacular gala dinner, then kick off your shoes and dance the night away with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh.

27 December

• Start the day in the right way with a full Scottish breakfast, before saying your farewells, leaving with cherished memories of a truly magical Christmas.
