Standing on the shores of Loch Shiel, Glenfinnan House Hotel offers a setting of quiet distinction and natural beauty. With uninterrupted views across the water to the National Trust for Scotland monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Ben Nevis visible in the distance, the house occupies a truly memorable Highland position. The iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct lies a short walk away through the estate, where red deer are often seen grazing.
This elegant Scottish country house, a fine stone mansion dating from 1755, is easily reached via a scenic drive from Glasgow, along Loch Lomond and through Glencoe, or by train to Glenfinnan Station, just ten minutes' walk from the hotel.
Accommodation is complemented by a collection of inviting public rooms, including a comfortable drawing room, an elegant dining room and a welcoming bar, where traditional music is often enjoyed. Guests are greeted in the hall by a roaring log fire, with pine-panelled walls displaying an atmospheric collection of paintings, including depictions of the 1745 Jacobite Rising at Glenfinnan.
See what one or our clients thought of his 2025 stay...
"Fantastic new year break, felt like staying in someone’s country house, the real fires, first class food and the service was the best we have experienced in a very long time, special thanks to all the staff. We also had our dog with us and the hotel achieved a perfect balance to make it work for us. "
