Standing proudly on the banks of the River Wear since 1389, Lumley Castle has been at the heart of County Durham's story for over 600 years. Originally built by Sir Ralph Lumley, this magnificent 14th-century castle blends medieval splendour with modern comfort, providing the perfect base from which to discover the rich heritage of the surrounding region.

This two-night package combines a stay at Lumley Castle with a visit to Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, one of the North East's most celebrated heritage attractions. Guests can stroll through Georgian, Victorian and 1950s streets, meet costumed characters and experience what everyday life was like across generations in the North East.

Beamish is open daily from 10am to 5pm, from 28 March – 23 October 2026.

• A valid form of payment must be presented at check-in;
• For cancellations up to 48 hours in advance, no charge is applied;
• Cancellations after this period will incur a cost of the first night's stay.
