Carlton Towers

Carlton Towers is the family home of Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard, a Victorian Gothic-style country house with opulent, luxury interiors, nestled within 250 acres of magnificent scenery. Stays can be tailored to suit your requirements; your celebration, your wedding, your menus – whatever your reason for visiting – planned meticulously to ensure your thorough enjoyment.

The House

The owners live in one wing of Carlton Towers whilst the remainder is privately yours for the duration of your stay.

Accommodation

The 16 luxurious guest rooms in the heart of the main house sleep up to 31 guests in total. Spread across the Batchelors Wing, the original Nursery Wing and the imposing Clock Tower, each carefully curated room is rich in architectural features and artwork. The rooms are named after the family's ancestors and each has its own unique character, antique furnishings and bespoke décor.

Staterooms

The three grand staterooms are sure to take your breath away. Perfect for larger celebrations, they are intricately decorated and stretch across the length of the house. Large doors connect each room which can be opened or closed as required. Gather for drinks in the Bow Drawing Room or around the roaring fire of The Armoury. The Venetian Drawing Room with its gilded high ceilings and grand fireplace is like a scene from a period costume drama. Smaller groups may prefer the convivial Cooks Kitchen or the intimate Duchess’s Dining Room.

Dining

You can choose to cater for yourself, bring in your own suppliers and caterers, or hire the in-house team of expert chefs to create bespoke menus fit for any occasion.

For family celebrations, birthdays or anniversaries, from a party for 20 to a reception for 200, the experienced team will help you plan everything personally and with attention to detail. The possibilities are endless!

The Grounds

The house is surrounded by 250 acres of picturesque parkland, offering seclusion from the outside world. The Walled Garden Vineyard grows two cool-climate grape varieties: Auxerrois Colmar and Pinot Noir and produces a limited release, deliciously light sparkling wine.
