Nestled in Eaglesfield, Lockerbie, Springkell is a magnificent Palladian mansion house dating back to 1734, offering stunning bedrooms and elegant dining. It is situated just six miles from Gretna Green, close to the border with England.

Accommodation

Relax and enjoy one of 21 unique bedrooms in the main house. Spacious and opulent, they are all individually furnished by the interior design company who furnish The Goring in London.

History

In 1893 the Heron Maxwells sold Springkell to Sir Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson, 1st Baronet, and during the next decade the interior of the house was entirely reconstructed. Timber, mainly from the estate, was used to renew the old doors, panelling, wainscoting and floors; new fireplaces were put in, plate-glass replaced the Georgian sash windows and the whole house was redecorated.
