Step into the warmth and charm of Thackray House, a historic 17th-century estate originally built in 1625 as a hunting lodge for the Dukes of Perth. Now a beautifully refurbished hotel and restaurant, it sits gracefully on the banks of the River Teith, surrounded by 21 acres of gardens and woodlands, and just a short stroll from the charming town of Callander.

This Christmas, indulge in a three-night festive retreat where traditional Scottish hospitality meets seasonal elegance. Christmas Eve

• Arrive on Christmas Eve and settle in beside the roaring fire in the lounge, where a delightful cream tea awaits;
• As evening approaches, join fellow guests for a Prosecco reception, followed by a candlelit three-course dinner lovingly prepared by the talented chefs;
• For those attending midnight mass locally, a warm welcome back awaits with mulled wine and mince pies, rounding off the evening in true Christmas spirit.

Christmas Day

• Wake to find a Christmas stocking waiting outside your door before enjoying a relaxed breakfast;
• From 12.30 pm, the celebratory Christmas lunch will be served at your reserved time, beginning with a Champagne reception;
• The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, exchange gifts, play games or simply unwind by the fire. Walking maps are available for guests who wish to explore the charming surroundings of Callander and the nearby countryside;
• Later in the evening, a relaxed cold buffet supper will be served, ideal for those with room for a little extra festive indulgence.

Boxing Day

• Following a leisurely brunch, take time to explore the house and local area, perhaps strolling along the River Teith or venturing into the nearby woodland trails;
• This afternoon, join your fellow guests for afternoon tea in the lounge from 2.30 pm - a perfect way to warm up and relax;
• As evening falls, gather once more for a Prosecco reception, before enjoying a sumptuous three-course dinner in the dining room, bringing your festive retreat to a memorable close.

27 December

• Savour one final full Scottish breakfast before bidding farewell to Thackray House, taking with you fond memories of a warm, relaxed and truly special Christmas in Callander.
