Common questions about hiring a castle exclusively for your group.
What does "exclusive use" mean?
Exclusive use means you hire the entire castle - all bedrooms, event spaces and grounds - for your group only, with no other guests present during your stay. The majority of our castles are available on this basis.
How much does it cost to rent an entire castle?
Prices vary widely depending on the property, dates and guest numbers. Self-catering castles start from a few hundred pounds/euros per night, while large all-inclusive estates run into several thousand. Our team can match options to your budget and provide a tailored quote.
Is there a minimum number of nights for exclusive hire?
Most properties require a minimum of 2–3 nights for exclusive use. There can be exceptions, so let us know your requirements and we'll see what we can offer.
Can I hire a castle for just a weekend?
Most of our castles can be booked for a weekend or a set number of nights, as well as for full weeks. Minimum stays vary by property and season.
Can I rent a castle for a party or special occasion?
Absolutely. Hiring a castle exclusively is ideal for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions and other celebrations, since the whole property and grounds are yours to shape around your group. Many castles can also arrange dinners, activities and entertainment.
Can I rent a palace as well as a castle?
Yes. Alongside our castles, you can hire Scone Palace in Perthshire - one of Scotland's most historic stately homes and the ancient crowning place of the Kings of Scots - including its Balvaird Wing.
Are there small castles available to rent?
Yes. As well as large estates, we have smaller castles and historic towers sleeping from just two to around ten guests, perfect for couples, families or intimate gatherings. Let us know your numbers.
Is catering included?
Some properties offer a fully catered package with breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, while others are self-catered. External caterers may be permitted at certain venues - please ask.
